Be aware of a recent phishing scam coming from an @uconn.edu email address. An example is shown below:
From: “xxx, xxx” <firstname.lastname@example.org>
> Date: August 15, 2017 at 3:06:59 PM EDT
> We will be Shutting Down your Account due to suspicious Activity and Login from a Different IP with your Account which have made us take this decision to safeguard your Account. To avoid Shutting Down of this Account you will be Required to CLICK THIS LINK now and Submit Details as you have just 24Hrs to confirm your Account.
> System Administrator.
If you receive this message, you can forward it to email@example.com and delete it from you inbox.
DO NOT click on any links and DO NOT provide your information. If you do, your email account and possibly other accounts will be compromised and you will need to take action. If you do click on the links:
- Change your NetID password immediately.
- Set up or change your “secret questions and answers” for your NetID account.
