Process for requesting access to Personally Identifying Information
The University is currently undertaking efforts to document Personally Identifying Information (PII) stored in its Information Systems and is asking that any employee that requires use of such information (such as Social Security numbers) to request access. Requests must be reviewed by the appropriate data owners before access is granted.
To request access to PII stored in any University Information System:
- Ensure that your computer is encrypted using University-approved full disk encryption. If you need to request that your computer be encrypted, call the UITS Help Center at 860-486-4357 (choosing the appropriate option) or email helpcenter@uconn.edu.
- Review and complete the Data Access Request Forms below:
- Send requests for access to the appropriate data owner (See below) for approval
Once the data owner approves the request, access will be granted.
